In the past week, police made four motor vehicle stops, resulting in three verbal warnings and one written warning. They also made three well-being checks and issued or renewed one firearm permit.
The Ambulance Service responded to seven calls and transported four patients to the hospital, one with Advanced Life Support services on board. Ambulance crews were not called to any motor vehicle collisions, but they provided two lift assists.
Tuesday, Aug. 22
At 10:05 a.m. an officer went to Clinton District Court seeking an arrest warrant against an out-of-state woman who had threatened to kill a Harvard resident last week; a judge issued the warrant Tuesday afternoon. At 10:43 a.m. a 911 caller reported two black Labs wandering on Still River Road, and units were advised to watch for them. At 10:45 a.m. an Ayer Road resident called, saying she had found drops of blood in the basement but had since cleaned them up. She also asked to speak with an officer about a previous break-in, although nothing was missing from the house. At 12:45 p.m. police received another call about the dogs on Still River Road, and the animal control officer was notified. At 2:45 p.m. a caller complained about a car speeding on Still River Depot Road.
Wednesday, Aug. 23
At 5:52 a.m. a 911 caller reported hitting a deer on Littleton Road. At 11:15 a.m. a Mettacomet Path resident called to report that someone had attempted to use the resident’s Social Security number. At 6:12 p.m. an officer stopped an unregistered car; the driver received a summons, and the car was towed. At 6:50 p.m. an officer noticed a damaged mailbox on Lancaster County Road and investigated.
Thursday, Aug. 24
At 8:35 p.m. a caller asked police for a well-being check on an Old Littleton Road resident; the resident was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
Friday, Aug. 25
At 8:05 a.m. a tree blew down on Hillcrest Drive, bringing wires with it. The Department of Public Works and National Grid were notified. At 11:39 a.m. another tree fell, blocking Bowers Road. At 12:06 p.m. Harvard officers were called to assist state police in Boxborough. At 1:21 p.m. a mail carrier asked for a well-being check at an Old Littleton Road home where the carrier had heard a child screaming; an officer spoke with the residents.
Saturday, Aug. 26
At 11:52 a.m. a 911 caller reported two cars racing on Still River Road, headed toward Bolton; the cars were gone when police arrived. At 7:20 p.m. an officer checked on an empty car parked on Ayer Road with its parking lights on; no one was in the area.
Sunday, Aug. 27
At 12:28 a.m. an officer checked on two cars parked near the town beach but found the occupants gone. At 9:18 a.m. an officer filed a report in an ongoing case of Zoom bombing at a Conservation Commission meeting. At 12:21 p.m. someone called 911 with suspicions about a hitchhiker on Still River Road; police located the hitchhiker and gave him a ride to Ayer. At 7:50 p.m. a caller reported hearing gunshots or an explosion in the Finn Road area; police checked the area, but all was quiet.
Monday, Aug. 28
At 6:32 a.m. a caller told police a deer was standing motionless on Bolton Road, possibly creating a hazard; but the deer had moved on when an officer arrived. At 8:33 a.m. Watertown police called to say a wallet belonging to a Harvard resident had been turned in there; the resident was notified and the wallet returned. At 3:28 p.m. a federal official reported that boys were again jumping into the Nashua River from a bridge near Still River Depot Road. At 4:12 p.m. Boxborough police asked for assistance from Harvard officers at a domestic dispute on Swanson Court.
