At 4:58 p.m. a carbon monoxide alarm went off at a house on South Shaker Road, but meter readings showed no carbon monoxide in the house. The duty officer replaced the alarm batteries, which solved the problem.
Saturday, Sept. 2
At 12:49 a.m. Harvard firefighters were dispatched to a crash on Interstate 495 but the call was canceled while they were on their way. At 4:40 a.m. a Partridge Hill Road resident called 911 to report the smell of smoke in the house. However, the smell turned out to be skunk, not smoke, and luckily it was coming from outside, not inside. At 5:02 p.m. firefighters were called to a Stow Road home where a fire alarm was going off. After checking the house with both a carbon monoxide meter and a thermal imaging camera, they determined the problem was a faulty detector.
Sunday, Sept. 24
At 11:31 a.m. Harvard firefighters were again called to a crash on Interstate 495 and again the call was canceled en route.
