Scouts’ field day
The annual Harvard Cub Scouts track and field day takes place from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, at McCurdy Track on Lancaster County Road. This afternoon of foot races, javelin, long jump, and shotput competitions, with popsicles afterward, is free and open to the public.
Yoga sessions
Yoga classes on the Common will take place from 6 to 7 p.m., Wednesdays in September. A donation is requested to benefit Maui relief efforts and Loaves & Fishes. All are welcome; bring a mat.

Boston Tea Party anniversary
The Harvard Historical Society will present a program to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party Saturday, Sept. 9, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the entrance to the Center Cemetery, which is next to the Congregational Church, 5 Still River Road. Rain date is Sunday, Sept. 10. A highlight of the program will be inside the cemetery, where visitors will hear the story of Elijah Houghton, a farmer living on West Bare Hill Road, whose identity as one of the participants in the Boston Tea Party was made known only recently. The event is free, but donations are appreciated.

Mary Gauthier at Fruitlands

Devens businesses, employees, and community members are invited to two upcoming food truck events, Thursday, Sept. 14, from 4 to 7 p.m. at 84-100 Jackson Road, Devens, and Wednesday, Sept. 27, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 33 Jackson Road, Devens. The Sept. 14 event will feature a beer garden, and there will be music and food trucks both days.
The future of fusion
The Warner Free Lecture Series starts its 2023-24 season Friday, Sept. 15, with Bob Mumgaard, CEO of Commonwealth Fusion, speaking on “The Future of Fusion: Unique and Practical Power.” All lectures are free and begin at 7 p.m. in Volunteers Hall in the Harvard Public Library, 4 Pond Road. Fall Fest

Concord Ag Day
On Saturday, Sept. 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Concord Ag Day, an annual farmers’ market celebrating local agriculture, will be held on Main Street, Concord (between Walden Street and the flagpole rotary). The event will feature the Scimone Farm Speedway and Veggie Racers and juggler and musician Leonard Solomon performing from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and a bluegrass concert with Tader Shipley & Maxfield Anderson & Friends on the Main Library lawn from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
ShirleyFest
ShirleyFest will take place Saturday, Sept. 9, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Shirley Center Common, 41 Brown Road, Shirley. The day’s entertainment will include singers, dancers, bands, and a magic show, as well as crafts booths and children’s activities. Admission and parking are free.

Pocket forest tour
The town of Ayer and the Devens Regional Enterprise Zone are working with residents and community members to plan, design, and install pocket forests through the Ayer Devens Main Streets Regional Pocket Forests project. A pocket forest tour and picnic takes place Sunday, Sept. 10 at 1 p.m. on East Main Street in Ayer (across from the library). Sing out
The Harmonia Youth Chorus for young singers starts Oct. 3 at Groton Hill Music Center, 122 Old Ayer Road, Groton. The chorus, for ages 9 to 12, will rehearse on Tuesdays from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. and perform material from classics to contemporary pop hits.
