The move to the new Harvard Senior Center at 16 Lancaster County Road is now scheduled for mid-June. The COA will be closed on Juneteenth, June 19.


Legal advice: Attorney Nancy Chew will present “Taking Control of Your Future: A Legal Checkup,” Tuesday, June 6, at 1 p.m. Learn about estate planning, power of attorney, and health care proxies.


Naval yard tour: Visit the USS Constitution and the Paul Revere midnight ride landing site on a tour of the Charlestown Navy Yard, Wednesday, June 7. The van leaves at 9 a.m.; fee is $10. You must have a valid ID to board the Constitution.


MassHealth recertification: If you need help filling out your MassHealth recertification, appointments will be available Thursday, June 8, and Friday, June 23, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Specialists will be on hand to answer questions about Medicaid and Medicare.


Spa day: Manicures, pedicures, mini-facials, and chair massage will be available Monday, June 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Services are $15 each; cash only.


Bird lecture: “The Secret Life of Birds” On Tuesday, June 13, at 1 p.m. there will be an illustrated lecture on the birds of Massachusetts. Meet two birds of prey at this free event.


Living with osteoporosis: On Wednesday, June 14, at 10 a.m., the Emerson Hospital Wellness program will give an online lecture on “Living and Moving with Osteoporosis.” Register at tinyurl.com/2p9476ze; Zoom link is emersonhosp-org.zoom.us/j/83365815008.


Harbor cruise: Board the Yankee Clipper Wednesday, June 14, at 9:30 a.m. to experience Newburyport harbor along with ospreys, eagles, and herons. $30 fee includes van fare; pay when signing up.


Garden tour: There will be a guided tour of the Garden at Elm Bank, Wellesley, Wednesday, June 21, at 10 a.m. This 36-acre property features 16 different gardens. $15 fee includes van and lunch; pay when you sign up.


I scream, you scream: Enjoy a sundae at the ice cream social, Thursday, June 22, 2 p.m. This free event will feature the band Side Effects. Signup by June 15 required.


Avoiding scams: Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr. will give a presentation on “Scammer Tactics,” Tuesday, June 27, at 1 p.m. Learn about active scams in the community.


Lunch at Stephen Anthony’s: Enjoy lunch and a view of Hager Pond at Stephen Anthony’s Restaurant in Marlborough, Wednesday, June 28, at 11:30 a.m., and visit the country store and candy shop. Van fee is $5.


Grocery shopping: The van leaves at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. on Fridays for Market Basket in Littleton. $2 per person. Call to reserve a spot.


Books at home: If you are homebound, call the library at 978-456-4114, or email
reference@harvardpubliclibrary.org to have books delivered.


COA van guidelines: Fees for the use of the van vary according to destination; payment in exact change is expected at the time of a ride. To schedule a ride, call the COA; 48 hours’ notice is requested. When there is more than one rider, masks are recommended.

The COA is looking for part-time drivers; call for more information.


Fitness classes: Fitness classes are offered online via Zoom and in person.

  • Aerobics and weight strengthening: Mondays and Wednesdays, 9-10 a.m., via Zoom. $36 per 12-class session.
  • Line dancing: Mondays, 10:15 a.m. via Zoom. $4 per class.
  • Zumba gold: Wednesdays, 10 a.m. in person at the Bolton COA, 600 Main Street.
  • Yoga for everybody: Tuesdays, 9:30 a.m. in person at the Congregational Church, 5 Still River Road, and via Zoom. $48 per six-week session; $10 for drop-ins. All in-person attendees must show proof of vaccination.
  • Tai chi: Thursdays, 9 a.m. at the Congregational Church, $25/month, $7/class.

  • Vet Cafe: Second Tuesday of the month, 9 a.m. Join fellow veterans for coffee and conversation. All are welcome.
  • Men’s coffee: Wednesdays, 9 a.m.
  • Women’s coffee: Fridays, 10 a.m.
  • Mahjong in the parlor: Thursdays, 1 p.m.
  • Fiber arts and knitting: Thursdays, 1 p.m.
  • Social hour for singles, Tuesdays, 1:15 p.m.
  • Afternoon bridge, Wednesdays, 12:30 p.m. All are welcome.
  • Men’s bridge: Wednesdays, 7:30 p.m.
  • TED talk: last Tuesday of the month, 1 p.m.
