In the past week, police made two motor vehicle stops, resulting in one verbal warning and one written warning. They also made four well-being checks, helped one person locked out of a vehicle, and responded to one false alarm.
The Ambulance Service responded to eight calls and transported six patients to the hospital, one with Advanced Life Support services on board. There were three motor vehicle collisions, but no lift assists.
Tuesday, June 6: At 4:03 p.m. an Ayer Road resident called 911 with concerns about a car in her driveway, but the driver turned out to be there to do maintenance work on a generator.
Wednesday, June 7
At 7:06 a.m. two cars collided near the intersection of Pinnacle and Old Littleton roads, but no one was injured and no tow was needed. At 12:26 p.m. an officer at the station took a report on a case of larceny or fraud; no details were available.
Thursday, June 8
At 8:06 a.m. a crash was reported on Interstate 495 southbound; state police had jurisdiction. At 10:29 a.m. there was another crash, this time on Route 2 eastbound; again, state police were in charge. At 6:45 p.m. a man called 911, saying his mother had gotten out of the car on Route 2 after making suicidal statements; state police located her and she was taken to a hospital. At 7:14 p.m. a West Bare Hill Road resident reported someone had driven into his stone wall two days earlier, damaging the wall.
Friday, June 9
At 5:59 a.m. a 911 caller told police two cars on Ayer Road had collided head on; one person was taken to the hospital and both cars were towed. At 9:56 a.m. an officer stopped a car for speeding on Mass. Ave. The driver, a 27-year-old Leominster woman, received a summons for speeding and for driving without a license. At 1:37 p.m. an officer and the clinician were called to Stow for a mental health evaluation. At 2:41 p.m. Boxborough police asked for assistance at Paddock Lane, also for a mental health evaluation.
Saturday, June 10
At 10:26 a.m. an officer stopped a car on Ayer Road for lack of an inspection sticker. The driver, a 64-year-old Harvard resident, was also found to have a suspended registration, and he received a summons for both offenses. The police gave him a ride home, and the car was towed. At 11:44 a.m. a caller reported a large turtle on Still River Road; an officer helped it across. At 11:56 p.m. someone called to complain about dogs barking near Abbot Lane. Police called the animal control officer, who said the dog owner had been served with a restraining order to keep his dogs from barking three years ago but continued to ignore the order.
Sunday, June 11
At 7:55 a.m. a Stow Road resident called because their two black Labs—a puppy and an adult—had run off without collars; the dogs came home a few minutes later. At 3:19 p.m. someone reported a train was stopped on the tracks near Still River Depot Road. Pan Am Railways (now part of CSX Transportation) told police the train was having power troubles, and a technician was on the scene. The train moved on shortly thereafter. At 9:22 p.m an Old Littleton Road resident called 911 about an ongoing family dispute.
Monday, June 12
t 5:27 p.m. an off-duty officer reported a red minibike being ridden erratically on Ayer Road; it was gone when police checked the area. At 6:04 p.m. an officer cleared some debris that was creating a hazard on Mass. Ave. At 9:01 p.m. two 911 callers reported hearing gunshots. An officer determined the cause was fireworks set off near the schools; though no one was found nearby, the officer stayed in the area for a while.
