In the past week, police made seven motor vehicle stops, resulting in four verbal warnings, one written warning, and two civil citations, which carry a fine. They also made three well-being checks, dealt with four disabled motor vehicles, and responded to two false burglar alarms.
The Ambulance Service responded to 12 calls and transported seven patients to the hospital, three with Advanced Life Support on board. There were three motor vehicle accidents but no lift assists.
Tuesday, June 20
At 11:18 a.m. an officer filed a vandalism report about damage to a picnic table at the McCurdy Track. At 1:52 p.m. a collision was reported on Route 2 westbound, where state police have jurisdiction. At 6:19 p.m. someone called 911 with concerns about a woman who appeared to be dozing in a car at the side of Littleton County Road. However, the car was gone when police arrived. At 9:01 p.m. a 911 caller reported a yellow Lab loose on Littleton County Road.
Wednesday, June 21
At 1:22 a.m. Littleton police called after trying to stop a black Cadillac on Oak Hill Road in Littleton; they said the driver fled across the town line onto Old Littleton Road. Harvard police searched the area but did not find the car. At 7:22 p.m. an officer checked on the well-being of a driver whose car’s SOS button had been activated; the driver said her son must have pushed it without her knowledge.
Thursday, June 22
At 9:18 a.m. an officer stopped on Ayer Road to help a person whose car had a flat tire; when the spare tire also proved to be flat, the car required a tow. At 12:07 p.m. a resident came to the station to file a report about harassment. At 2:08 p.m. a Pinnacle Road resident called to report a case of identity theft. At 5:54 p.m. a caller told police a German shepherd dog was loose on Bolton Road, and the animal control officer was notified.
Friday, June 23
At 6:38 p.m. a woman called to say a truck had seemed to be following her on Still River Road over a period of several days; however, she later concluded it was a friend. At 8:30 p.m. a caller reported a car that had been speeding in the area was now parked near the intersection of Prospect Hill Road and Madigan Lane; an officer spoke to the car owner about the complaint.
Saturday, June 24
At 12:07 a.m. a woman called 911 from her car on Slough Road to say she had been assaulted at a party nearby; the ambulance took her to the hospital, and an officer followed up at the party location. As far as police know, the woman has not filed a complaint about the incident. At 12:19 a.m. another 911 caller said four or five people seemed to be trying to break in the gate at Fruitlands; because the Harvard officer on duty was dealing with the assault case, Bolton police were called to check on Fruitlands, but the would-be intruders had left. At 8:36 a.m. someone reported a transformer on Finn Road was emitting a loud buzz; National Grid was informed. At 9:55 a.m. a caller asked to speak with an officer to report a case of child abuse, and police said an officer would investigate. At 1:10 p.m. a walker called 911 to say a large pit bull terrier was following him, but not being aggressive; the animal control officer was notified.
Sunday, June 25
At 12:05 a.m. a 911 caller reported a crash on Interstate 495 northbound, and state police came to the scene. At 8:29 a.m. someone called with concerns about a horse in a pasture on Stow Road; the animal control officer was notified. At 9:17 a.m. a tree was reported down on Littleton Road, and police informed the Department of Public Works. At 12:18 p.m. a caller told police that cars were parked on both sides of the road near the intersection of Old Littleton and Old Schoolhouse roads, creating a hazard; an officer asked the owners to move two of the cars. At 2:11 p.m. police received word that a large tree was down on Westcott Road; the DPW was alerted.
Monday, June 26
At 7:07 a.m. someone reported a tree branch on power lines on South Shaker Road; Verizon was notified. At 2:20 p.m. a 911 caller told police a beige sedan was speeding on Stow Road and had passed in a no-passing zone; the car had left the area when police arrived. At 3:20 p.m. there was a three-car crash on Interstate 495 northbound; state police had jurisdiction. At 5:56 p.m. Ayer police asked Harvard to check on an Ayer officer who was not answering his radio after responding to a domestic dispute near Pingry Way; the officer was all right. At 8:58 p.m. a walker called 911 to report being followed by a dog on Littleton County Road; the dog was gone when police arrived.
