Housing forum

There will be a community forum to discuss the town’s housing production plan Wednesday, June 28, from 7 to 8 p.m. via Zoom. The forum will focus on ways to create diverse and affordable housing in town over the coming five years. Residents’ input is requested on a draft of the housing production plan, which can be found at tinyurl.com/mr3pykce. To view last year’s production plan kickoff, go to tinyurl.com/3vnuu7yv.

Fourth of July events

This year’s Fourth of July celebration will include a display of antique cars at 9 a.m. and bike decorating at the library field at 10 a.m., with the parade beginning at 11 a.m. at Depot and Ayer roads and the flag raising at noon, followed by field events, all on the library field. There will be no fireworks this year.


Wild turkey survey

The public is invited to help MassWildlife biologists assess the state’s wild turkey population by reporting observations of hens (female turkeys), poults (newly hatched turkeys), jakes (juvenile males), and toms (adult males). The survey is open now through Aug. 31 and is available at mass.gov/info-details/summer-wild-turkey-survey.


Pride patches available

During the month of June, Harvard police officers are wearing Pride patches to show support for LGBTQ+ youth suicide prevention and crisis intervention. A limited number of patches are available for purchase through the month of June or until they are sold out. To purchase a patch, come by the station at 40 Ayer Road or contact Officer Cavanaugh or Trish at 978-456-8276, Monday through Friday during business hours. Proceeds go to The Trevor Project, the world’s largest organization dedicated to this cause.


New transfer station stickers needed by July 1

Transfer Station sticker must be affixed to your vehicle by July 1.

Ultimate frisbee

Registration is open for an ultimate frisbee summer clinic with coach Don Phillips, a veteran of the JuJu Hex Team of the Boston Ultimate Disc Alliance. The clinic takes place Monday, June 26, through Friday, June 30, 9 a.m. to noon at the Upper Depot field on Depot Road. Learn more and sign up at tinyurl.com/pv2n5xz7.


Soccer skills clinics

Join the Bromfield School varsity soccer coaches and players for a three-day skills clinic. The clinics are for grades K through 6. Sessions are from 9 a.m. to noon, June 27 to 29 and Aug. 15 to 17 at Pond Road playing field. Sign up at fohsoccer.com.


Loaves & Fishes food pantry

This food pantry, 234 Barnum Road, Devens, offers drive-thru access for those needing help with groceries. Hours are first Tuesday of the month, 5 to 7 p.m., and Wednesdays, Fridays, and third Saturday, 9 a.m. to noon. Upcoming dates are June 23 and 28.
