Bare Hill triathlon
The Bare Hill sprint triathlon, duathlon, and aquabike races will take place Sunday, June 4, 8 a.m., starting and finishing at the library at 4 Pond Road. Online registration is recommended; learn more and sign up at runsignup.com/Race/MA/Harvard/BareHillTri. In-person registration is also available at 4 Pond Road, Saturday, June 3, 4 to 6 p.m. or Sunday, June 4, 6:30 to 7:30 a.m.
- The sprint triathlon relay consists of a 0.3-mile swim, 10.4-mile bike ride, and a 3.1-mile run.
- The duathlon is a 1.5-mile run, 10.4-mile bike ride, and a 3.1-mile run.
- The aquabike is a 0.3-mile swim and 10.4-mile bike ride.

Singer/songwriter at Fivesparks
Jim Infantino will appear in concert with Jesse Flack Friday, June 2, at 7:30 p.m. at Fivesparks. Infantino is a singer/songwriter who has toured with Chris Chander and Dar Williams and recorded seven albums. Yoga on the Common

Vernal pool tour
Biologist Bob Douglas will lead explorations of vernal pools at Barba’s Point, Sunday, June 4, at noon and 1 p.m. Discover how this ecosystem, brimming with plant and animal life, comes to life each year at this time. Energy coaching
The Harvard Climate Initiative will host a meeting with volunteer energy coaches Saturday, June 10, at 1 p.m., at the General Store, 1 Still River Road, second floor. The coaches are experienced with air source (mini-split or ducted) systems and ground source (geothermal) systems. Learn about heat pump system alternatives including their cost effectiveness and how to find and evaluate sellers and installers.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation will hold a “Touch-A-Truck” event at the MassDOT highway district depot, 499 Plantation Parkway, Worcester, Saturday, June 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This family-friendly event will provide the chance to interact with loaders, tractors, plows, and trucks. Rain date is Sunday, June 4.
Chow down for a cause
The FAB 5 hosts its Breakfast Bash fundraiser Saturday, June 3, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Shirley Christian Fellowship hall, 3 Harvard Road, Shirley. Enjoy all-you-can-eat pancakes, waffles, eggs, bacon, and fresh fruit for $10 for adults; $8 for kids. Proceeds will support charitable efforts such as the Apple Valley Center nursing home, Devens women’s shelter, and Sterling Animal Shelter.

See World War II aircraft
On Monday, June 5, at noon, the B-29 Superfortress “Fifi” and the B-24 Liberator “Diamond Lil” will land at Westfield-Barnes Regional Airport, 110 Airport Road, Westfield, accompanied by a T-6 Texan, a PT-13 Stearman and a RC-45J Expeditor. The P-51 Mustang “Gunfighter” will also make an appearance.
The event will be open to the public June 8 to 11, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Supporting aircraft will be offering rides each day. Rides on other aircraft, including the P-51, B-24, and B-29 will be offered at scheduled times, as will cockpit tours. Access to the ramp is $20 for adults, $10 for ages 11 to 17, and free for children age 10 and younger. Learn more and book rides or cockpit tours at airpowersquadron.org.
Willard Farm photos: Artist Talk
Photographs of Harvard resident Ellen Harasimowicz are on exhibit at Three Stones Gallery, 32 Main Street, Concord, through June 18. The show, “Living Like Grass,” documents goings-on at Willard Farm in Still River for the past three years. Harasimowicz will discuss her work Thursday, June 8, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at the gallery.

Juneteenth at Groton Hill
Jazz pianist and composer Kevin Harris will bring his project “Roots, Water, and Sunlight,” comprising three movements for a wind octet accompanied by rhythm section, digital instrumentation, and recorded words of James Baldwin, to the Concert Hall at Groton Hill, 122 Old Ayer Road, on Sunday, June 18, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $31 plus fees at grotonhill.org/tickets.
For the birds
Birder and photographer Ken Janes will present “Life List: An Evening of Bird Photography and Field Notes,” Monday, June 19, at 7 p.m. at the Lawrence Academy Media Conference Center, 26 Powderhouse Road, Groton. Janes’ images have appeared in his book “Life List,” and he is the author and photographer of “Florida Birds: A Birdwatcher Discovers the Sunshine State” to appear in November. The event is open to all; requested donation is $10 with proceeds going to Nashua River Watershed Association.
‘Race’ to benefit Habitat for Humanity
Win the race and get a medal just by crossing the starting line at the “0.0 Race,” Thursday, June 22, at 6 p.m., at Sterling Street Brewery, 175 Sterling Street, Clinton.
