At 8:15 a.m. Engine 2 and the tower truck responded to what turned out to be a false alarm at a home on Old Meadow Lane. At 9:52 a.m. Engine 2 was called out again to a reported car fire on Interstate 495 northbound; the call was canceled by Bolton.
Wednesday, May 17
At 1:44 p.m. a power outage set off a fire alarm at an Elm Street home, and the duty officer silenced the alarm for the homeowner. At 3:39 p.m. Engine 2, the tanker, and the forestry truck were called to several small brush fires along the railroad tracks at the end of Old Mill Road; the Devens Fire Department fought the fires from the west, while Harvard firefighters worked from the east. At 8:06 p.m., while firefighters were engaged in training exercises at Bare Hill Pond, a faulty sprinkler alarm at the Congregational Church brought Engine 2 and the tanker to the scene.
Thursday, May 18
At 2:07 p.m. the Harvard tanker provided mutual aid to Devens firefighters at a brush fire on the South Post.
Friday, May 19
At 8:57 p.m. a firefighter was stationed on detail at Hildreth Elementary School for safety during Celebration.
Saturday, May 20
At 4:21 a.m. Harvard firefighters provided mutual aid to Bolton, sending the tanker and Engine 4 to help extinguish a burning pile of logs on Wattaquadock Hill Road. At 3:58 p.m. a machine belt overheated at an Ayer Road business, setting off the smoke alarm there.
