At 1:29 p.m. the duty officer checked an alarm from a home on Jacob Gates Road and found it was probably caused by a dirty detector.
Thursday, April 27
At 5:49 p.m. the Bolton animal control officer asked the Harvard Fire Department’s drone team to help look for a dog loose on Interstate 495.
Friday, April 28
At 10:21 a.m. there was a fire drill at the Bromfield School, and at 10:57 a.m. another was held at Hildreth Elementary School. Firefighters were called to two brush fires on Interstate 495, one at 1:02 p.m. and the other at 3:28 p.m.; but both calls were canceled. At 7:03 p.m. Engine 3 and the forestry truck were called to put out a brush fire on Bowers Road. An earlier permitted fire had rekindled after not being fully extinguished.
Saturday, April 29
At 7:41 a.m. a Slough Road resident called because a smoke alarm was sounding; the duty officer found the detector was dirty. At 10:55 a.m. the duty officer investigated smoke along Still River Road and found someone burning leaves; the person was told to put the fire out. At 7:18 p.m. burned food set off an alarm at a home on Stow Road; the Engine 2 crew responded and ventilated the house with the department’s large fan. At 8:50 p.m. a carbon monoxide alarm went off at a house on Madigan Lane; the duty officer found carbon monoxide in the house and called Engine 2 to ventilate it.
Sunday, April 30
At 6:11 a.m. firefighters were called to a one-car crash on Route 2 eastbound, but there were no fluid leaks or debris at the scene. At 12:34 p.m. the duty officer responded to an alarm from a house on Whitney Road and found that burned food had set off the smoke detector.
