Panoramic photos of Fort Devens
On Saturday, May 20, at 1 p.m., the Fort Devens Museum will present “Reading Camp Devens Panoramic Photographs,” at 94 Jackson Road, third floor. The museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is accessible to wheelchairs.
The exhibit draws from the museum’s extensive collection of panoramic photos and captures enlightening details in the pictures. For instance, a sign in the background of one photo announces a camp quarantine, while the image of a too-tight coat straining at the buttons suggests the camp supply had run out of commonly issued sizes.

Celebration open house
Bromfield Celebration, Harvard’s post-prom event for juniors and seniors, will hold its annual public open house walk-through Friday, May 19, at Hildreth Elementary School, 27 Mass. Ave., from 9 to 10 p.m. This is an opportunity to view the event’s decorations before the students arrive.
Breakfast with the birds
On Saturday, May 20, at 6:30 a.m., bird expert Tom Murray will lead a casual walk through the Heald Street Orchard in Pepperell. The walk will feature many migrating species of birds, including a large variety of warblers; bring binoculars. There will be coffee and breakfast pastries from Dunkin’ Donuts. To reach the orchard, go 1.5 miles on Heald Street away from Pepperell town hall at the corner of Main and Park streets.
It’s plant sale time
The Garden Club of Harvard will hold its annual plant sale Saturday, May 20, from 9 a.m. to noon at Westward Orchards, 178 Mass Ave., rain or shine. The selections will feature potted perennials from local Harvard gardens as well as annuals, herbs, and vegetables. Debit and credit cards will be accepted.
Memorial Day events
The town’s Memorial Day exercises will begin at 10 a.m., Monday, May 29. The parade route will include Town Hall, the Civil War Memorial, the Center Cemetery, the World War II, Korean, Vietnam, and Gulf War memorials, and will then move to the World War I Memorial and flagpole for the day’s ceremony. After the parade, participants may continue by car to the Corporal Skillings Memorial in Still River, where a wreath will be placed and taps played. Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, the police and fire departments, Immaculate Heart Of Mary Marching Band, and all veterans who wish to walk in the parade are welcome.
Music at Fivesparks
Jim Infantino will appear in concert with Jesse Flack Friday, June 2, at 7:30 p.m. at Fivesparks, 7 Fairbank Street. Infantino is a singer/songwriter who has toured with Chris Chander and Dar Williams and recorded seven albums. Bare Hill triathlon

Willard Farm photos
The photographs of Harvard resident Ellen Harasimowicz are on exhibit at Three Stones Gallery, 32 Main Street, Concord, through June 18. The show, “Living Like Grass,” documents goings-on at Willard Farm in Still River for the past three years. An opening reception will be held Saturday, May 20, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Spring celebration
Danny’s Place, a nonprofit in Acton providing free and low-cost programming to youth in the surrounding area, will hold a spring celebration and cornhole tournament fundraiser Saturday, May 20, from 2 to 7 p.m. at NARA Park, 25 Ledgerock Way, Acton. The event will include kids’ activities, a live music performance, and food from sponsors True West, El Huipil, and Westside Creamery. Native American celebration
The United Native American Cultural Center will hold its 26th Annual Unity Days Powwow, May 20 and 21, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at 29 Antietam St., Building P-5, Devens. The event features ceremonies, drumming, traders, and the UNACC store.
