In the past week, police made 16 motor vehicle stops, resulting in eight verbal warnings, seven written warnings, and a civil citation, which carries a fine. They also issued or renewed a firearm permit, checked on two disabled motor vehicles, and responded to three false burglar alarms.
The Ambulance Service responded to 10 calls and transported 10 patients to the hospital, two with Advanced Life Support services on board. The ambulance responded to one motor vehicle collision.
Tuesday, Feb. 28
At 10:01 a.m. a car crash took place on Route 2 westbound. One person was injured and taken to the hospital; state police had jurisdiction. At 12:09 p.m. a Cleaves Hill Road resident told police someone was cutting down trees nearby. Police found it was a tree company working on private property.

Thursday, March 2
At 10:42 a.m. an officer transported some drugs to the crime lab in Worcester for testing. At 4:15 p.m. a 911 caller reported a car being driven erratically near the intersection of Still River Road and Willard Lane; an officer located the car, which by then was parked. At 8:20 p.m. an Ayer Road driver called 911 after passing a man who was possibly drunk, dressed in black, and walking in the roadway; the driver thought the side mirror of his car might have hit the man. An officer located the pedestrian and gave him a ride home.
Friday, March 3
At 8:43 a.m. a Prospect Hill Road resident reported a car he had seen parked in the area over several days; an officer told him the car belonged to a private investigator and police were aware of his presence. At 9:59 a.m. the investigator also called police, saying a man had approached his car and banged on its window with a wrench. At 11:04 a.m. someone at an Ayer Road apartment building called 911 after hearing a thud from upstairs; the caller was concerned that the upstairs neighbor might have fallen, but a police check found all was well. At 2:13 p.m. a caller said a truck parked near the sharp intersection of Old Schoolhouse and Littleton County roads was a hazard; but the truck was gone when an officer arrived. At 10:02 p.m. a 911 caller asked for a well-being check on an ex-partner with a history of suicidal behavior; police went to the Old Littleton Road residence, and the person was taken by ambulance to a hospital.
Saturday, March 4
At 12:44 a.m. an officer checked on a pickup truck with an obscured license plate. At 7:06 a.m., with heavy snow falling, a caller reported his car had hit a tree on Pinnacle Road; the car was towed. At 7:32 a.m. another car slid off Pinnacle Road. The driver somehow became locked out of the car, and an officer helped open the vehicle; no tow was needed. At 3:41 p.m. the DPW reported a town vehicle was disabled and needed a tow.
Sunday, March 5
At 9:42 p.m. police informed the DPW that town roads were again becoming icy and also called the state Department of Transportation to treat state roads in town.
Monday, March 6
At 8:09 p.m. a Lancaster County Road resident called for help with her suicidal son, who had said he was going to walk into traffic; the ambulance took him to a hospital.
