You may have read or heard that National Grid is dropping its electricity rates as of May. National Grid announced that its rate will drop to $0.14115/kWh in May from its record high this winter. Most residents are enrolled in the town’s Community Choice power supply program, which also had high rates this past winter, though 7 cents lower per kW than National Grid.
In May, Harvard’s program rates will also drop. They will be $0.13010/kWh, which is 8% lower than National Grid and will be in place through October 2023. Furthermore, the town’s standard offering is a greener option than National Grid. The Community Choice power supply is 100% renewable with National Wind Renewable Energy Certificates.
