At 9:11 a.m. the Fire Department received an alarm from a building on Littleton Road, but no alarm was sounding at the building itself; the problem was a defective monitor. At 12:27 p.m. the district dive team was called out to search for a missing boater in Leominster. Harvard sent its boat and drone to help. After a 2½-hour search, the teams concluded the canoe had likely just gotten loose, and no one had been in it. At 1:19 p.m. a fire alarm went off at a Madigan Lane home; the duty officer determined it had been set off by someone working on the oil burner.
Friday, March 24
At 3:51 p.m. the Fire Department was called to the crash on Littleton Road and Cruft Lane, but no fluids or other hazards were involved. At 5:13 p.m. the duty officer ordered a homeowner to put out a fire in a brush pile on Slough Road because the fire was both unattended and burning after permitted hours.
Sunday, March 26
At 2:11 a.m. firefighters were dispatched to the crash on Interstate 495, but Bolton subsequently canceled the call. At 10:55 a.m. the tanker, the tower truck, and Engines 2 and 4 responded to a call from a home on Still River Road; residents reported the smell of smoke in the basement, but firefighters found no sign of a fire. At 5:01 p.m. an alarm came in from the Holy Trinity Rectory; no report was yet available.
Monday, March 27
At 8:33 a.m. Harvard firefighters with Engine 4 were called to cover the fire station in Ayer while that town’s crews were fighting a two-alarm fire.
