Topping off a perfect 10-0 season, the Bromfield/Ayer Shirley/Littleton co-op team won last week’s Feb. 2 Midland-Wachusett League meet at Tantasqua Regional High School with a score of 334 points, outcompeting 11 other league schools and winning the league championship. The boys took seventh place with 150 points. Qualifying athletes on both teams are now preparing for the Massachusetts Interscholastic Association Division 2 Central/West sectionals Feb. 12 at Springfield College, which will be followed by the state championships on Feb. 18 and 19 at MIT.
“Amazing,” wrote assistant coach Sabiha Madraswalla to the Press. “The kids swam and dove so impressively, and it was such an exciting meet overall. We haven’t had a full league meet like that since before COVID.”
