Upholding the mission to promote and defend a safe, inclusive social climate that values diversity and fosters respect for one another, Arm in Arm condemns any action that obstructs people from exercising their democratic rights. Recently, a Harvard resident was verbally abused for peacefully holding a political sign at the Transfer Station. Arm in Arm works to foster an environment where all people feel safe to express their diverse ideas and views in a civil and respectful manner.
As Eleanor Holmes Norton said, “The only way to make sure people you agree with can speak is to support the rights of people you don’t agree with.”
