Story times
Registration is required for all story times.
- Ages 2 and younger: Mondays and Thursdays, 10:30 a.m.
- Story time for ages 2 and 3: Wednesdays, 10:30 a.m.
- Stories for ages 4, 5, and older: Mondays, 1:30 p.m.
- Nutcracker story time, for ages pre-K through fifth grade: Saturday, Nov. 26, 10:30 a.m. Dancers from the North Central Youth Ballet will come in costume to the library and read aloud from “The Nutcracker.”
Children’s programs
- Finger doodles, ages 6 and up: Wednesday, Nov. 16, 3:45 p.m. Use stamp pads to make fingerprints and then draw on them to make animals, people, and vehicles. Registration required.
- Game hour, grades 1 to 6: Thursdays, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. starting Nov. 17. Play Set, Scrabble, Mille Bornes, chess, and more. Registration required.
- Children’s literature book discussion group for grown-ups: Thursday, Nov. 17, 7 p.m. This month’s book is “Coming Up Cuban,” by Sonia Manzano.
- Third-grade book group: Monday, Nov. 14, 4 p.m.
- Fourth-grade book group: Monday, Nov. 21, 4 p.m.
- Fifth-grade book group: Tuesday, Nov. 15, 4 p.m.
- Sixth-grade book group: Tuesday, Nov. 29, 4 p.m.
Book group membership is limited to children who are Harvard/Devens residents/HES students. Maximum group size per grade is 12 children.

- Write Stuff, for fourth through sixth grades. Tuesday, Dec. 6, 4 p.m. A low-key, supportive, once-monthly writing group.

Turkey raffle
The Harvard Firefighters Association will host its annual turkey raffle Friday, Nov. 11, from 7 to 10 p.m. at the center fire station, 13 Ayer Road. Admission is free, and everyone who attends will be automatically entered for the door prize. This event raises funds for firefighter training and community outreach programs, equipment purchases, and charities. Bring quarters to participate. Various prizes, including almost 100 turkeys, will be given away.
Songwriter Solomon at the General
Singer-songwriter-guitarist Lenny Solomon will bring his blend of folk, country, and blues to the Harvard General Store, 1 Still River Road, Saturday, Nov. 12, from 6 to 9 p.m. Admission is $10 at the door.
Townwide book read
Arm in Arm’s townwide book read takes place Thursday, Nov. 17, at 7 p.m., via Zoom, and will feature “Tortilla Curtain” by T.C. Boyle. ‘You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown’

Miniature game day at Fort Devens Museum

At Museum of Russian Icons
The Museum of Russian Icons, 203 Union Street, Clinton, announces two current exhibits:
- “Artists for Ukraine: Transforming Ammo Boxes into Icons,” showcasing icons painted on the boards of ammunition boxes by Oleksandr Klymenko and Sofia Atlantova, a husband-wife team from Kyiv.
- “Tree of Life: Birch Through the Ages,” six icons created by Siberian artist Vladimir Tulyak from layers of birch bark, bringing together representations of birch in Slavic art, poetry, and craft.
