Bromfield boys advance to Division 5 state soccer final for fifth straight year

November 16, 2022

Bromfield’s 2022 boys soccer players proved they were worthy keepers of Harvard’s legacy as the central Massachusetts team to beat by winning their semifinal match against No. 4 seed Gardner 4-1 Tuesday night at Norton Field in Ayer., advancing to the state final for a fifth consecutive year

Sophomore attacker Brendan Listzwan scored three of Havard’s goals, earning a hat trick, and senior Theo Bradley scored the fourth. Gardner's sole goal was won by junior Ricardo Ruiz with an assist from freshman Camden Gamache.

Tuesday’s match against the Gardner Wildcats began with temperatures hovering in the mid-30s, and ended with snow falling on players and fans, obscuring the view from the bleachers, like static on a 1950s TV.

The Trojans will play their final match against the No. 2 Sutton Sammies this coming Saturday, Nov. 19, at a time and place to be determined. That match will decide who will be crowned the 2022 Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Division 5 champion.
