Tuesday, Sept. 20
At 6:02 a.m. an alarm went off at Hildreth Elementary School; it proved to be a false alarm.
Wednesday, Sept. 21
At 6:04 a.m. the HES alarm went off again in another false alarm. At 6:35 a.m. Boxborough called for mutual aid for a fire on Swanson Road there, and the Harvard tanker went to assist; however, Boxborough firefighters extinguished the fire quickly, and the Harvard crew was able to come home in short order. At 11:53 a.m. a 911 call came from a residence on Baldwin Court where a smoke alarm was going off; firefighters found dust in the air had set off the basement alarm.
Thursday, Sept. 22
At 11:26 a.m. a caller said a carbon monoxide detector was sounding at a Littleton Road apartment. It was set off because a car had been left with its engine running in the garage, and the resident had already ventilated the building when the fire crew arrived. At 12:31 p.m. Littleton called for mutual aid at a car crash on Route 2 westbound but then canceled the call. At 1 p.m. firefighters investigated a faulty smoke detector at an Ayer Road building. At 4:36 p.m. Harvard firefighters were called out to another crash on Route 2 westbound. This time one person needed transport to a hospital by Harvard’s ambulance crew. The firefighters cleared debris from the two-car smashup and provided safety at the scene until the vehicles were hauled away.
Saturday, Sept. 24
At 12:52 p.m. firefighters went to Pinnacle Road, where a car had hit a utility pole.
Monday, Sept 26
At 11:15 a.m. the Fire Department responded to another smoke alarm from the elementary school and found it had been set off by a staff member who had burned some food in a toaster oven.
