Police made 11 motor vehicle stops in the past week; six resulted in verbal warnings and five in written warnings or citations. Officers also made three well-being checks and responded to one false burglar alarm. The Ambulance Service was called to five medical emergencies and took four people to the hospital, two with Advanced Life Support services in attendance; one person canceled their call.
Tuesday, June 21
At 9:21 a.m. a caller alerted police that a dump truck had rolled over behind a house on Prospect Hill Road; the driver had raised the truck bed to empty a load of dirt, and the shift in weight tipped the truck over. At 3:03 p.m. a Cedar Ledge Road resident called with concerns about an unfamiliar car parked nearby; an officer checked and found nothing amiss. At 5:39 p.m. a 911 caller said cars were parked illegally on Pond Road, but police determined the parking was legal. At 8 p.m. a caller reported suspicions about an unfamiliar car on Brown Road; police found the license plate number matched that of a car that had been subject to a complaint in Bolton.
Wednesday, June 22
At 9:22 a.m. police called the animal control officer about a dog running in traffic on Bolton Road. At 11:26 a.m. a black car with Connecticut plates sped through the Bromfield School parking lot in the wrong direction; an officer stopped the car and questioned the driver about his presence at the school.
Thursday, June 23
At 10:28 a.m. Harvard police backed up Bolton officers in searching for an elderly woman who had wandered away from her home; she was found safe in nearby woods. At 12:57 p.m. a woman reported someone had threatened her while she was riding her horse on conservation land near Bolton Road. At 8:15 p.m. a 911 caller reported a dog in the road near the intersection of Woodside and West Bare Hill roads.
Friday, June 24
At 5:37 p.m. Harvard officers cooperated with Boxborough police, who were investigating possible shots heard near the Boxborough Department of Public Works.

Sunday, June 26
Between 9:30 and 10 a.m. police received two calls about an injured deer in the Lovers Lane area; police first referred the caller to the state Fish and Game Department, but when calls to that number got no response, police had to put down the deer. At 4:29 p.m. police and emergency services responded to a major accident on Ayer Road (see story, page 7). At 9:28 p.m. a 911 caller reported that a man had jumped in front of the caller’s car on Old Littleton Road.
Monday, June 27
At 10:52 a.m. a caller reported a car crash, thinking it was in Harvard, but it was actually in Ayer’s jurisdiction. At 1:31 p.m. an officer asked a landscaping company with six vehicles parked on Pinnacle Road to keep the roadway clear. At 4:03 p.m. police received a noise complaint about a dog that had been barking for over an hour on Oak Hill Road; an officer spoke with the dog’s owner.
