Police made 31 motor vehicle stops in the past week; 14 resulted in verbal warnings, and 17 in written warnings or citations. Officers also made two well-being checks, and responded to one false burglar alarm. They were unable to help one person who was locked out of a vehicle. The Ambulance Service was called to four medical emergencies and took four people to the hospital, one with Advanced Life Support services in attendance.
Tuesday, June 7
At 3:01 p.m. a caller reported debris on Stow Road, but a search of the area did not locate it. At 3:57 p.m. a Glenview Drive resident told police their golden husky had run away, and the animal control officer was notified. At 4:05 p.m. state police reported a car on Interstate 495 northbound had gone off the road and into the trees; another town’s ambulance service took one person to the hospital with Advanced Life Support services in attendance.
Wednesday, June 8
At 6:38 a.m. someone called about a dead animal on Ayer Road; police found two dead raccoons and notified the Department of Public Works. At 12:03 p.m. a caller who is renovating a house on Pinnacle Road reported possible vandalism and illegal dumping on her property; police advised putting up surveillance cameras. At 3:09 p.m. police spoke to a black-clad man at the Oak Ridge Observatory on Pinnacle Road and warned him he would be charged with trespassing if found there again. At 5:26 p.m. a 911 caller said a black bear was walking down Depot Road; the bear was gone when police checked the area. At 6:59 p.m. a caller complained about a tractor-trailer truck idling near the Center Cemetery; police found the truck had broken down, and the driver was waiting for a tow.
Thursday, June 9
At 10:18 a.m. police responded to a two-car collision on Ayer Road near the Dunkin’ Donuts. No one was injured, but police cited one of the drivers—a 27-year-old Marlborough woman—for driving without a license. At 1:22 p.m. a caller reported a tree leaning on some wires on East Bare Hill Road.
Friday, June 10
At 12:09 p.m. an officer spoke to a paving crew on Bolton Road that was working without a traffic control detail. At 1:55 p.m. someone called 911 with suspicions about a driver—possibly inebriated—in a gold van in the Woodside Road area; police spoke with a number of other people there, but no one else had seen it.
Saturday, June 11
At 7:37 p.m. an officer noticed metal debris on Ayer Road near Gebo Lane and removed the hazard. At 8:37 p.m. a 911 caller reported two cars had collided on Interstate 495 northbound, and one had gone far off the road down an embankment. Another town’s ambulance service took at least one person to the hospital with Advanced Life Support services in attendance.
Sunday, June 12
At 6:09 p.m. a 911 caller complained about a speeding car on Still River Depot Road; police spoke with the driver’s parents. At 6:34 p.m. an officer warned several young people on the railroad trestle in the Oxbow National Wildlife Refuge that they could be charged with trespassing. At 9:35 p.m. a Still River Road resident sought help with a bat in the house; police notified the animal control officer, who advised calling an exterminator.
Monday, June 13
At 6:46 a.m. police called the DPW about a dead skunk on Mass. Ave. At 8:38 a.m. a bicyclist called 911 to report being bitten by a dog on Old Littleton Road; EMTs checked over the cyclist, and then he was given a ride home. At 9:33 a.m. someone called with concerns about an older woman walking on Ayer Road, but the walker was gone when police arrived. At 4:08 p.m. an officer on patrol spoke with a young person who was riding a skateboard unsafely on Depot Road. At 4:31 p.m. someone from the Department of Children and Families notified police that they expected to go to an address in Harvard.
