The library is located at 4 Pond Road.
The Summer Reading Kickoff takes place Tuesday, June 28, 4 p.m., with lawn games, popsicles, and classic rock and pop songs performed by the talented local band Electric Orange. Jessie Day 5K
The 11th annual “Have a Jessie Day” 5K will be held Saturday, June 4, at 9 a.m. at the Bromfield School, 14 Mass. Ave. The race is a run/walk event to celebrate Class of 2012 member Jessie Peterson. Bib and shirt pickup and race day registration start at 8 a.m. Entry fee of $20 benefits the Jessica Peterson Scholarship Fund. Vernal pool walk
The Harvard Conservation Trust will host an exploration of vernal pools with biologist Bob Douglas at Barba’s Point, Saturday, June 5. Discover how this essential ecosystem brimming with flora and fauna comes to life each year at this time. This event is appropriate for most school-age children and inquisitive preschoolers with an adult. Meet at the parking lot behind Bromfield School near the tennis courts. Viewing sleds and nets will be provided, and families are welcome to bring their own; bring a snack. Register for either the 10 a.m. or noon time slot at Bit.ly/HCTVernalPool. WBN potluck dinner
The Women’s Business Network annual potluck takes place Thursday, June 9, at 6:30 p.m. at the Harvard Alpaca Ranch, 58 Old Mill Road. Evie Ladin in concert
notloB Parlour Concerts presents Evie Ladin, Thursday, June 9, at 7:30 p.m. at Fivesparks, 7 Fairbank Street. Banjo player, singer, songwriter, percussive-dancer, choreographer and square-dance caller, Ladin reconnects Appalachian music and dance with other African-diaspora traditions and has been heard on A Prairie Home Companion, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, Celtic Connections, and at Lincoln Center. Devens food truck and craft festival
The Devens food truck and craft festival takes place Friday, June 3, and Saturday, June 4, at the Museum Field complex, Antietam Street, Devens. Over a dozen food trucks will be on hand. Family Fun Day at Mirror Lake, Devens, will take place Sunday, June 12, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with free admission.
