Registration is required for indoor story times; register at eventkeeper.com/ode/events.cfm?curOrg=HARVARD. Masks are required for indoor story time attendees ages 2 and up. Story times are subject to change.
Register for outdoor story times by filling out the form at forms.gle/31ncCNkwptBUT1VH8. In case of inclement weather, outdoor story time will be canceled. Registrants will be notified by email.

Fivesparks exhibits, classes, activities

An evening of folk music
notloB Parlour Concerts presents folk singer-songwriter, guitar, and Appalachian dulcimer player David Massengill at Fivesparks, 7 Fairbank Street, Friday, May 6, at 7:30 p.m. Massengill has written songs recorded by the Roches and by Joan Baez as well as children’s books, and has performed and recorded children’s music. The book sale returns
The annual book sale at the library, 4 Pond Road, will return this year Friday, May 6 (preview sale for Friends of the Library only; Harvard residents may join the Friends at the door), 2 to 6 p.m.; Saturday, May 7, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, May 8, 10 a.m.to 2 p.m.
‘Women, Wares, and Song’
The Women’s Business Network will hold its “Women, Wares, and Song” event Thursday, May 12, 7 to 9 p.m. at the church hall at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, 15 Still River Road. The Harvard Schools Parent Teacher Organization will host a spring soirėe, Friday, May 13, 6 p.m. at Fruitlands Museum, 102 Prospect Hill Road. Garden Club plant sale is back
The Garden Club of Harvard plant sale will take place Saturday, May 14, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the Westward Orchards farm store, 178 Mass. Ave. The sale goes on rain or shine; purchases by cash or check only. The sale features perennials grown in town by Garden Club members, locally grown herbs and vegetable seedlings, and, this year, indoor plants. Local experts will be available for consultation. Proceeds from the sale are used for civic beautification projects around town.
Organ celebration
Join the Harvard Historical Society, 215 Still River Road, in celebrating organist Gavin Klein, Sunday, May 15, at 2 p.m. Gavin, an award-winning organist, is a graduating senior at Nashoba Regional High School in Bolton and recently won a scholarship at the College of the Holy Cross. Gavin will be performing Bach, Handel, and Pachelbel, as well as Shaker arrangements on the society’s recently restored 1870 George Stevens organ. Reception to follow the music.
Cycling around
The Ken Harrod Memorial Road Race takes place Saturday, May 21, with an online registration deadline of Friday, May 20, at noon. The course starts at the Fairbank Street/Old Littleton Road intersection and winds through town via Old Littleton, Oak Hill, and Pinnacle roads. Jessie Day 5K
The 11th annual “Have a Jessie Day” 5K will be held Saturday, June 4, at 9 a.m. at the Bromfield School, 14 Mass. Ave. The race is a run/walk event to celebrate Class of 2012 member Jessie Peterson. Musical roots

Shop for mom
Bolton’s Artisans Guild will be hosting its Mother’s Day art fair with over 50 artists expected to participate on the Bolton Common, 715 Main Street, Bolton, Saturday, May 7, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Artists including metal sculptor Yvette Monstad, potter Holly Lauer, and bestselling author/illustrator Suzy Becker, will feature handmade goods from jewelry to wall art, fiber and fabric wear, glass and wood creations. Hitchcock at Devens

‘Iconoclasts & Cosmopolitans’
On Saturday, May 21, at 2 p.m., the Museum of Russian Icons, 203 Union Street, Clinton, will present a piano concert, “Iconoclasts and Cosmopolitans,” exploring the USSR’s five decades of innovative music. Picnic time
The Worcester County sheriff’s office’s annual senior picnic will take place Saturday, June 4, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at SAC Park, 438 Lake Street, Shrewsbury. The picnic will once again be held as a drive-thru and will feature a free car wash, barbecue boxed lunch, goodie bags, live music, giveaways, and raffle prizes.
