In the past week, police made 23 motor vehicle stops, 13 resulting in verbal warnings, nine in written warnings or citations, and one with no recorded outcome. They also made two well-being checks. The Ambulance Service was called to four medical emergencies and took three people to the hospital, two with Advanced Life Support services in attendance; one person refused ambulance transport.
Tuesday, April 5
At 6:10 p.m. a 911 caller asked for a well-being check on a juvenile who had missed school. At 7:48 p.m. someone came to the police station to report losing a cellphone on Ayer Road; the phone was later found. At 10:29 p.m. a resident called about a juvenile who had left home; the young person was located and returned.
Wednesday, April 6
At 1:18 p.m. an officer noticed a car partly blocking Still River Road and asked the driver to move it to a safer location. At 7:08 p.m. someone called 911 to complain about cars speeding in the area of Jacob Gates Road. At 7:14 p.m. a 911 caller reported a one-car crash on Still River Road; no one was injured, but the car had to be towed out of a ditch.
Thursday, April 7
At 8:13 p.m. a caller reported a tree or large branch had fallen on Old Littleton Road.
Friday, April 8
At 3:51 p.m. a resident called police to report receiving harassing text messages. At 4:20 p.m. a Harvard officer assisted Ayer police in restraining a mentally ill person who posed a risk of serious harm; two Ayer officers were injured in the incident. At 5:53 p.m. a South Shaker Road resident reported hearing yelling and screaming somewhere nearby; police checked with neighbors but could not confirm the disturbance. At 8:48 p.m. an officer spoke with four young people who were walking on Littleton Road and flagging down cars; nothing was amiss.
Saturday, April 9
At 4:15 p.m. an Ohlin Lane resident called to report losing a wallet; the wallet was found in Boxborough.
Sunday, April 10
At 10:42 p.m. a caller reported a crash on Interstate 495 northbound; state police were informed.
Monday, April 11
At 9:47 a.m. an officer took a report of a missing laptop at the Bromfield School. At 11:17 a.m. an officer went to the school again after a student found some license plates there that had been reported as stolen.
