Learn about Ukraine
Interested in learning about Ukrainian history and culture and how you can help the people in the war zone? Arm in Arm will sponsor a presentation, “Ukraine—The Land of Freedom,” by Roksolana Mykhaylyk, a Harvard resident, native Ukrainian, and linguist, Wednesday, April 6, 7 p.m. at the Bromfield School library, 14 Mass. Ave. Registration is required at tinyurl.com/pxrh4u78. Masks are optional but recommended.
At the library
The library is located at 4 Pond Road.
Registration is required for all indoor story times. Register at eventkeeper.com/code/events.cfm?curOrg=HARVARD. Masks are required for indoor story time attendees ages 2 and up. Story times are subject to change.

Greenland journey
On Sunday, pril 3, at 4 p.m., Fivesparks, 7 Fairbank Street, will present an author event and Greenland journey presentation with Erica Ferencik. Ferencik will discuss the origin of her novel “Girl in Ice” and share a “Journey to Greenland” presentation showcasing her month-long research trip to this land of almost incomprehensible size and scale. Copies of the book will be available for sale at the event.
Bromfield spring concerts
On Tuesday, April 5, 6:30 p.m., Bromfield School seventh- and eighth-graders will perform music from various movies, stage productions, pop-rock bands, and folk songs. On Thursday, April 7, 6:30 p.m., sixth-grade and high school ensembles will share music with the themes of friendship, love, dance, jazz, and fusion and premier a brand-new piece. Performances will be at the Cronin Auditorium, 14 Mass. Ave. The shows are free and open to the public.
Problem-solving session
The Women’s Business Network will host “Interactive Meetings: Problem Solving, Networking, Small Group Discussions,” Thursday, April 7, in person at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 15 Still River Road, and Thursday, April 14, via Zoom, both at 7:15 p.m. WBN is a local, volunteer-run networking group of women in small businesses, professional practices, nonprofits and the arts who meet monthly for mutual support, education, and networking. Guests are welcome.

The egg hunt returns
The Harvard Family Association announces the return of its egg hunt, Saturday, April 9, 10:30 a.m., on the Common at 13 Ayer Road. Bring your own basket to this all-ages, free event, which is open to the public and will feature egg hunts at 11 a.m. and noon, when little ones collect eggs and claim prizes for their finds. Other entertainment includes lawn games, spring crafts, story time, and a chance to take a photo with the Easter Bunny.
Walk with a wetlands scientist
Harvard’s Land Stewardship Subcommittee will hold a spring walk Sunday, April 10, on the Black Pond and Vesenka lands. In the first part of the walk, wetland scientist Matthew Varrell will introduce vernal pool ecology and some spring visitors and inhabitants of the ephemeral woodland pools. The walk will continue, covering approximately 2½ miles on trails, passing through a landscape of geology and botanical beauty. Launch into scouting
The Girl Scouts of Central and Western Massachusetts invite Harvard girls and their guardians to a free “Launch Into Girl Scouts” event, Tuesday, April 26, 6 to 7 p.m. This event, at Camp Green Eyrie, 69 Still River Road, is for girls currently in pre-K and kindergarten who are not yet Scouts. Freshwater studies
Join Nashua River Watershed Association naturalists for “Dragons, Damsels, and Giants … Oh My!”, a free, one-hour aquatic insect investigation designed for children and adults. Participants will discover creatures living underwater in rivers, streams, and ponds. Programs will take place on the following Sundays from 2 to 3 p.m.:

Haydn and Dvorak

‘Something Rotten’ at Theater at the Mount
Theatre at the Mount, 444 Green Street, Gardner, presents “Something Rotten!”, a 10-time Tony-Award nominated musical. Combining song-and-dance numbers, a cast of eccentric characters, bold costumes, and colorful sets, the show offers a humorous take on history. Nature events
The Sudbury Valley Trustees, which conserves open space and farmland in 36 communities around the Sudbury, Assabet, and Concord rivers, has released its spring calendar of nature-themed outings and programs, including nature walks at properties in Littleton, Berlin, Upton, Acton, and Wayland. On Earth Day, Friday, April 22, there will be free group walks in Framingham, Harvard, and Wayland to celebrate nature.
