In the past week, police made 12 motor vehicle stops, eight resulting in verbal warnings and four in written warnings or citations. They also checked on two disabled vehicles and responded to four false burglar alarms. The Ambulance Service was called to four medical emergencies, taking four people to the hospital, one with Advanced Life Support services in attendance.
Tuesday, March 8
At 7:59 a.m. a 911 caller told police a car had hit a tree near the intersection of Littleton County and Sherry roads. No one was injured, but the car had to be towed. At 10:36 a.m. a caller reported a fallen tree near the Stow Road overpass, and police notified the Department of Public Works, who removed it.
Wednesday, March 9
At 10:48 a.m. police dealt with an ongoing dispute in a child custody case. At 11:20 a.m. an officer investigated a report of identity theft from a Bolton Road resident. In the afternoon and evening, the snowy roads were challenging for motorists. At 3:44 p.m. a car skidded and struck a mailbox on Whitney Road. At 5:19 p.m. a car on Mass. Ave. collided with a pole. And at 6:18 p.m. a car ran into a tree across the street from the police station on Ayer Road. No one needed ambulance transport from any of the collisions, but all three cars had to be towed; there’s no word on the condition of the mailbox, the pole, or the tree.
Thursday, March 10
At 9:17 a.m. an employee at a business on Ayer Road complained about a car parked in a bad spot, and an officer asked the driver to move it. At 9:20 a.m. a 911 caller reported several horses loose near Old Mill Road; the owner rounded them up a little later. At 11:33 a.m. an officer accompanied an investigator from the Department of Child and Family Services to a Bolton Road home. At 4:19 p.m. a resident came to the police station to report earlier damage to a mailbox from a snowplow. At 8:54 p.m. a 911 caller told police someone was jumping in front of cars on Old Littleton Road. Police spoke with the person.
Friday, March 11

Saturday, March 12:
t 12:48 p.m. police reported hazardous road conditions townwide and notified the Department of Public Works. At 12:55 p.m. police were informed of a crash on Route 2 westbound, where state police have jurisdiction.
Sunday, March 13
t 3:22 p.m. someone called about two dogs on the loose, and police notified the animal control officer; the dogs were returned to their home.
Monday, March 14
At 12:26 p.m. someone called 911 about a disturbance at a Bolton Road home. A resident was taken to a hospital and also given a summons for assault on a family member. At 6:34 p.m. a Blanchard Road resident phoned about several dogs that were getting into a scuffle; police called the animal control officer and later followed up to identify the dogs and their owners member.
