Daylight saving time begins Sunday, March 13, at 2 a.m. Set your clocks ahead by an hour and change the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.
Boat lottery open
The Bare Hill Pond boat storage lottery is open now through Thursday, March 31. Names will be drawn for spots for canoes, kayaks, and other boats at the boat moorings in the cove and near the picnic area and a small number of boat slips. Mud season and Harvard trails
Mud season is starting, and with the ground vulnerable to potholes, ruts, and erosion as it thaws, the Conservation Commission asks that horseback riders and bicyclists stay off town trails until they firm up. Drivers are asked to keep vehicles on gravel parking areas and off muddy edges, and trail walkers and runners are advised that some sections may be impassable with mud and water. A good trail option at this time of year is the running track through the woods at Harvard Park, Lancaster County Road, which is open to all users and is built with drainage and a compacted surface. Public hearing on Ayer Road renovation
On Wednesday, March 30, at 6:30 p.m., a virtual public hearing will be hosted on the Massachusetts Department of Transportation website, mass.gov/massdot-high way-design-public-hearings. The hearing will present the design for proposed renovation of Ayer Road, from Route 2 to the Ayer town line. Refer to tinyurl.com/2uvs4wyz for more information.

Scholarships for grads
The Harvard Woman’s Club gives scholar awards each June to deserving graduating high school seniors at the Bromfield School, the Parker Charter Essential School, Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School, or to Harvard residents graduating from other public secondary schools. Harvard Lions citrus sale
The Harvard Lions Club announces online ordering for its 31st annual citrus sale, featuring Valencia oranges and Royal Ruby Red grapefruit, shipped direct from Florida.
Starting Saturday, March 19, the Lions will be around town on weekends, selling fruit cash-and-carry. Grapefruit, oranges, and mixed are available in 20-pound boxes for $33.

Food pantry open for drive-thru pickup
The Loaves & Fishes food pantry, 234 Barnum Road, Devens, serves residents of Harvard, Ayer, Dunstable, Devens, Groton, Littleton, and Shirley. It will be open for drive-thru access March 11, 16, 19, 23, 25, and 30, 9 a.m. to noon.
The pantry seeks a senior administrative assistant responsible for office administration, donor and volunteer database management, pantry correspondence, outreach support, marketing, and fundraising efforts. For more information, go to loavesfishespantry.org.
