For more than 30 years, Harvard Girl Scouts and members of the community have come together to bring warmth during the winter months to our neighbors in need. The Mitten Tree, standing tall at the Children’s Room in the Harvard Public Library for a few weeks each holiday season, gets visits from Girl Scouts and others who drop off donations of mittens, gloves, hats, and scarves, which are then brought to local organizations, Loaves & Fishes, Cradles to Crayons—and this year WHEAT Community Cupboard. Thank you to all who have visited and dropped off donations at the Mitten Tree; these organizations appreciate the kindness and generosity of the Harvard community.
We thank Abby Kingsbury and the Harvard Public Library for a wonderful partnership each year. And a special thank-you to the hand knitters who anonymously dropped off a bounty of beautiful and warm hand knit items!
