In the past week, police made three motor vehicle stops, resulting in one verbal warning and two written warnings or citations. They also responded to two calls about disabled motor vehicles and two false burglar alarms. The Ambulance Service received six emergency medical calls and took five people to hospitals, two with Advanced Life Support services on board; the other person refused transport.
Tuesday, Oct. 26
At 6:64 a.m. a caller reported a fallen tree blocking Woodchuck Hill Road.
Wednesday, Oct. 27
After 24 hours of nearly steady rain, early morning callers reported several fallen trees. At 5:24 a.m. a caller told police a tree was blocking Mass. Ave. At 6:28 a.m. an Old Littleton Road resident reported a fallen tree that had brought power lines down with it. At 6:53 a.m. a caller reported a tree across Littleton County Road.
Thursday, Oct. 28
At 7:49 p.m. someone phoned police to say a man in a blue shirt and plaid jacket was jumping in front of cars near the intersection of Old Littleton and Old Schoolhouse roads. The man was gone when police arrived.
Friday, Oct. 29
Nothing significant to report.
Saturday, Oct. 30
At 5:19 a.m. a caller complained that someone on Ayer Road was leaning on a car horn. Police found an old dump truck with its horn stuck; an officer disconnected the horn.
Sunday, Oct. 31
At 10:20 a.m. a Bolton Road resident reported that someone had fraudulently opened a credit card account in the resident’s name and then stolen the card from their mailbox when it arrived. At 6:24 p.m. a caller reported a child lost while trick-or-treating near Trail Ridge Way; the child was located and returned home.
Monday, Nov. 1
At 10:14 a.m. a previous two-car accident on Ayer Road was reported. At 10:54 a.m. an Ayer Road business reported a case of fraud. At 12:08 p.m. a 911 caller reported a car had hit a deer on Ayer Road near the Route 2 overpass; the deer had to be put down. At 2:28 p.m. a caller reported a black Chevrolet was driving erratically on Bolton Road; police searched the area but did not locate the vehicle.
