War Memorial dedication
The dedication ceremony for Harvard’s new monument to citizens who served in World War II and the Korean, Vietnam, and Gulf wars is planned for Sunday, Nov. 7, at 11:30 a.m. Scheduled speakers include state Sen. Jamie Eldridge, Jon Schoenberg, chair of the War Memorial Restoration Committee, and Meg Koch, executive director of the Virginia Thurston Healing Garden. All are welcome.
All ashore who’s going ashore
Harbormaster Bob O’Shea has announced that all boats must be removed from the town beach by Monday, Nov.15. Boats not removed by the deadline are subject to impoundment.
Water-testing volunteers needed
Volunteers are needed to test their household water for lead and copper twice a year. You must be on town water with no water filters installed. Testing is free; materials and instructions are provided. (More details are in the Oct. 21 Press article “DPW seeks volunteers to test water for copper, lead.”)

Historical Society annual meeting
The Harvard Historical Society will hold its annual meeting Thursday, Dec. 9, at 7 p.m. at the Still River meetinghouse, 215 Still River Road. Food pantry open for drive-thru pickup
The Loaves & Fishes food pantry, 234 Barnum Road, Devens, serves residents of Harvard, Ayer, Dunstable, Devens, Groton, Littleton, and Shirley. It will be open for drive-thru access Nov. 5, 10, 12, 17, 20, and 24, 9 a.m. to noon. Hazardous waste collection
The Devens Regional Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center, 9 Cook Street Rear, Devens, is open to Harvard residents, and will be open Saturday, Nov. 6, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. More information is available at devenshhw.com.
