Harvard Lions Club thanks participants and donors

November 4, 2021

The Harvard Lions would like to say a big “thank you” to the town’s ghouls and goblins for their generous support of our Halloween festivities. The spooky crowd generously donated in excess of our costs, and we are happy to have enough left over for our charities. Also donated were numerous coats and blankets for the Afghan refugee resettlement cause that we are collecting for. This collection will continue until Nov. 19. Additional coat and blanket donations can be dropped off at Hildreth House into the barrels on the porch.

Many of the people volunteering that night have done so every single year since the Lions took over this event from Harvard Realty more than 10 years ago. Sue Reedich and Bob Hazel were the original proposers and organizers in 2011, and Bob O’Shea has been event chair for many years (as he was again this year). Tom and Carol Lee Tonge continue to do yeoman’s work of planning and leading all food service events that the Lions do throughout the year. John Drummey (also known as Fry Daddy), and Bob and Dave Hazel have been the main cooks for our events.

Thanks again for your generous support.

Ed Gordon, president
Harvard Lions Club
