All the calls for the Fire Department this week were related to vehicle crashes on Route 2 or Interstate 495. In all but the case noted below, the calls were either canceled or handled mainly by crews from other towns.
Tuesday, Sept. 21
At 4:41 p.m. a 911 caller reported a two-car crash on Route 2 eastbound. One car had rolled over and lay in the high-speed lane. The ambulance crew took one person to the hospital with Advanced Life Support services in attendance, and firefighters provided scene safety and later cleaned up debris.
The fire log is written by a Harvard Press reporter based on information gleaned from daily dispatch logs and interviews with fire department staff.
