At 9:49 a.m. the brakes locked on a medical transport vehicle on Route 2 eastbound, leading the brakes to catch fire. The Fire Department put out the fire, and the vehicle was towed.
Saturday, Sept. 18
At 8:59 p.m. a 911 caller said a smoke detector was sounding at a house on West Bare Hill Road. A firefighter investigated and found the detector was faulty.
Monday. Sept. 20
At 1:20 p.m. a tractor-trailer near Town Hall lost its power steering when a line ruptured, spilling fluid in the roadway; firefighters investigated and saw to the cleanup.
