The state reported six new COVID-19 cases in Harvard for the week ending Sept. 2, bringing the town’s cumulative number of confirmed cases to 167. Statewide, for the week ending Sept. 7, cases, hospitalizations, and deaths rose by about the same amount as they did the previous week.
According to the state’s weekly town-by-town vaccination report, the number of residents in Harvard who were fully vaccinated as of Sept. 2 was 3,975, 19 more than on Aug. 26. Another 305 had received one dose of a two-dose vaccine, two higher than on Aug. 26. Using the town clerk’s July 15 population data, the percentage of Harvard residents who were eligible for the vaccine (12 or older) and fully vaccinated as of Sept. 2 was about 79%. Another 6% were partially vaccinated. (See story.) These numbers do not include Devens residents or inmates at the Federal Medical Center in Devens.
