Outdoor water use banned for those on town water
As of Aug. 9, Harvard’s Water Commission has banned the use of outdoor water for anyone who is hooked up to the town’s public water supply. The ban was imposed in the town center’s water district after testing turned up coliform bacteria in one of the town’s wells and at Town Hall. Until further notice, water district residents must not use irrigation systems, water lawns, pressure wash houses or driveways, wash vehicles, or fill pools.

Sports-writing workshop for high school students
The Harvard Press will offer its free sports-reporting workshop once again this fall for Bromfield students enrolled in eighth through 12th grade. In four to five sessions, students will learn the basics of reporting and writing about live events. Food pantry open for drive-thru pickup; looking for truck driver
The Loaves & Fishes food pantry serves residents of Harvard, Ayer, Dunstable, Devens, Groton, Littleton, and Shirley. It will be open for drive-thru access from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 21, 25, and 27.

Drive-up baseline COVID testing
The CovidSafe Schools advisory group is planning a drive-up baseline testing event at the Bromfield School on Wednesday, Aug. 25, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. and from 3 to 6 p.m. The testing is open to students and family members. Please consider bringing your children to this event regardless of their vaccination status. High participation rates will ensure a safer reentry to school. More details will be shared with families in an upcoming communication.
