Bromfield’s baseball, girls lacrosse, and tennis teams plunged into Central Mass. playoffs this week, while track and field athletes awaited the release of their schedules later this month. According to Bromfield’s athletic director, Dave Boisvert, the unexpected relaxation of COVID-19 rules surprised many schools, so the Central Mass. Athletics Directors Association (CMADA), sponsor of this spring’s tournaments, extended the deadline for track and field teams to sign up until June 14.
The Press has been following six Bromfield teams plus the rowing club this spring. There is no varsity softball or boys lacrosse this year due to the low number of athletes who registered. However, four Bromfield girls have joined the Ayer Shirley Regional High School softball team as co-op players, and four boys have joined the Middlesex Regional High School lacrosse team.
