During the past week, police made one motor vehicle stop, which resulted in a verbal warning. Officers also issued or renewed one gun permit. Emergency responders received eight medical calls and transported three people to the hospital, two with Advanced Life Support services in attendance; three people refused transport. There were also two false burglar alarms.
Tuesday, May 4
At 7:05 p.m. an Old Meadow Lane resident came to the police station to report fraudulent charges of more than $5,000 to the resident’s Amazon account. At 8:21 p.m. a 911 caller from Still River Road complained of being harassed on the internet; police told the caller it was a civil, not criminal, issue.
Wednesday, May 5
At 4:40 p.m. an Ayer Road resident came to the station to report a case of computer service fraud. At 5:58 p.m. Ayer police requested backup for a motor vehicle stop. At 6:55 p.m. Ayer police again called Harvard officers, this time to check on a person about whom an Ayer officer was suspicious. At 7:28 p.m. an officer saw a disabled vehicle on Ayer Road and checked on it but found no problem. At 8:08 p.m. Boxborough police requested assistance, but no further information was noted. At 10:26 p.m. Ayer police called Harvard to say a possibly intoxicated driver, who had seemed to be staggering in a parking lot, was headed toward Harvard. When Harvard police stopped the driver, they found she was not intoxicated; she said she had been looking for her wallet, which she had dropped in the parking lot.

Friday, May 7
At 4:02 a.m. an Ayer Road resident called to ask police for a well-being check on a neighbor, whom he heard crying. An officer spoke with the neighbor. At 6:09 a.m. a Still River Road resident called 911 with concerns about an older woman walking back and forth on the road. Police located the woman, who explained she’d stopped her morning walk to watch a rabbit. At 5:21 p.m. an officer noticed a telephone wire down on Hillcrest Drive and notified Verizon. At 9:27 p.m. an officer served a restraining order on a Finn Road resident at the police station, after two earlier attempts to serve the order at the person’s residence had failed.
Saturday, May 8
At 1:58 a.m. Pepperell police asked Harvard officers to check the area for the subject of an earlier alert, but the person was not found.
Sunday, May 9:
At 4:48 a.m. police got a call asking for help with a car that had run out of gas on Ayer Road; they called for a tow. At 10:03 a.m. someone called to ask for a well-being check on a person who appeared to be sleeping behind the wheel of a car parked on Ayer Road; police found the person was on the phone. At 2:49 p.m. police were called to a minor collision at the General Store. At 3:31 p.m. a caller reported a disabled car on Brown Road. Police found that the car had gone off the road and struck a stone wall; the driver had left to get assistance.
Monday, May 10
At 9:18 a.m. a Shaker Road resident called to report a brown, black, and white animal in the driveway; the species of animal was not identified in the dispatch log, but the animal control officer was notified. At 12:37 p.m. a 911 caller asked for a well-being check on a young adult who had texted he intended to harm himself, but police did not find him at the address where he was thought to be. At 9:43 p.m. a 911 caller told police a car had gone off Mass. Ave. and struck a tree; no one required ambulance transport.
