U.S. News & World Report unveiled its 2021 rankings of the country’s best high schools, placing the Bromfield School fifth in the state.
The report surveyed 17,800 public high schools nationwide and 348 in Massachusetts. Of the four schools that ranked higher than Bromfield, three were charter schools and one was a Boston exam school, which admits students on the basis of exam scores. The four, in rank order, are Boston Latin, Pioneer Valley Chinese Immersion Charter School in Hadley, Advanced Math and Science Academy Charter School in Marlborough, and Pioneer Charter School of Science 2 in Saugus. The top three were ranked among the top 100 schools in the country. Bromfield was ranked 210th nationally.
According to the magazine, schools in its survey are ranked on their performance on state-required tests, graduation rate, and how well they prepare students for college. Bromfield was tied for first place in the state for its 100% graduation rate and third for math and reading proficiency. For details, go to the website: usnews.com/
