Thursday, March 11
At 4:34 p.m. Harvard firefighters responded to a car fire on Interstate 495 northbound, along with firefighters from Bolton and Boxborough. Boxborough put out the car fire, while the Harvard team extinguished the brush fire the car had caused.
Saturday, March 13
At 10:02 a.m. a 911 caller reported a car on fire on Route 2 eastbound. But while the Harvard squad was still on its way, another team determined the car was simply overheating.
Sunday, March 14
At 5:54 p.m. a carbon monoxide alarm went off at a home on Old Littleton Road. When firefighters arrived, the homeowner had already reset the alarm. The firefighters checked the house and found no harmful gas. At 8:29 p.m. a Littleton Road resident called 911 to report a brush fire. Firefighters found that a falling tree had brought down live electric wires, which in turn sparked the blaze. The crew came with Engine 2 and the forestry truck and put out the fire, but not before a motorist unwisely drove over the fallen tree, damaging the car.
Monday, March 15
At 4:07 a.m. a Warren Avenue resident called 911 to report another brush fire. Fifteen firefighters came with the tanker and the forestry truck to extinguish the fire, which had apparently rekindled from a permitted burn earlier in the day.
