The Harvard Lions Club recently completed its 30th annual fruit sale fundraiser and wishes to thank the town for its continued support. We sold a total of 5,000 pounds of grapefruit and oranges in record time. With a lot of help from online presales we sold out at the town center the first weekend. We were able to do this because you purchased fruit knowing you were supporting our causes. We were able to do this because you made generous fruit donations to Loaves and Fishes that amounted to a record 460 pounds delivered to families in need in our community. And, we were able to do this because we believe you enjoy the fruit year after year. We appreciate your business and assure you that our proceeds are returned to the community while allowing us to continue to fund sight, hearing, and diabetes causes.
We also wish to thank Carlson Orchards. Over the years Carlson Orchards has allowed us to use their cool storage area to keep the fruit fresh and helped us with transportation. This fundraiser would not be possible without Carlson having our back.
You may have noticed that we added a new feature to the sale this year—gift boxes delivered directly from the Florida orchard to friends and family anywhere in the continental U.S. Even though we are sold out of our standard 20-pound boxes, a wide variety of fruit gift boxes will be available to purchase until April 16 at www.harvardlions.org.
