Miranda Evelyn DeGuglielmo, 25, died at Newton-Wellesley Hospital on Jan. 14, 2021, after a brief illness.
She was born on July 7, 1995, in San Francisco, California. She was the daughter of Joe DeGuglielmo of Charlestown and Christine Johnson DeGuglielmo of Concord. She graduated from the Bromfield School in 2013, where she started on the girls varsity lacrosse team as an eighth-grader, continued to play through her high school years, and was co-captain in her last two years on the team.
Miranda attended the University of New Hampshire, transferred to Lesley University, and studied abroad in Rome, Italy.
She loved children, her pets, laughing, a good time, and telling people what to do. An amazing sister and adoring aunt, she loved to be with her family and friends to share the holidays and family traditions, and to create memories. Very athletic, she loved skiing, throwing a football around, going to the batting cages, and especially hiking with her dogs as well as swimming and kayaking on Bare Hill Pond.
Miranda loved to travel and dreamed of returning to Europe and the possibility of living there. She loved studying art, especially the Italian Renaissance. Recently, she was honing her blossoming talents as a painter. She looked forward to raising a family and possible careers in the arts or counseling.
Her family and friends have suffered a profound loss, and her unique presence will never be replaced. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brother, Cory DeGuglielmo of Concord, and her sister, Lisa Smith of Gloucester.
A drive-by memorial will be held in Harvard from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, 2021. From the intersection of Still River and Prospect Hill roads, proceed on Prospect Hill Road toward Fruitlands Museum. At the overlook there will be a memorial by Miranda’s friends. Continue to the Fruitlands Museum parking lot, where there will be another drive-by station of family and friends. An outdoor service will be held at 3 p.m. in the Fruitlands lot. Attendees must stay in their cars, and the service will be broadcast over the radio.

Christine‘s Facebook page will also offer the opportunity to pick a photo of Miranda and write a note to the family for the book.
