As the year comes to a close, the Board of Health is grateful:
For the support we get from the Nashoba Associated Boards of Health and from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and other state agencies that answer our questions and get us information we need.
For our neighbors and those who work in town who are ambulance, police, fire, and other first responders; teachers and school staff; librarians; Town Hall staff; poll workers; DPW workers; postal workers; COA staff; and all who volunteer on town boards who have completely changed ways of working but continue to work to make sure the town keeps running and we are safe.
For the Harvard Press staff for its continued reporting on the COVID-19 pandemic and assistance in getting facts out to its readers.
For our neighbors who are health professionals; supermarket workers; vets; who run the General Store; hardware store, bank, and restaurant employees; and countless other professions who go to work each day and face exposure from COVID-19.
For the fact that we live in a town where we have the ability to be outdoors, walk conservation land, and get fresh air.
For everyone who lives in, works in, or visits Harvard, and their commitment to help protect our neighbors and our community by wearing a mask, maintaining social distancing, and following other COVID-19 safety advice.
Reported numbers of COVID-19 cases in Harvard have been low, but there have been deaths, and the Board of Health wishes to extend our condolences to the families who have lost a loved one or who have suffered from COVID-19.
We see hope for 2021 with the vaccination of the community. Please do not let down your guard, and continue to take precautions until everyone is vaccinated.
