It’s been a tough year for everyone. The local nonprofit and volunteer organizations that are in many ways the glue of our community have not been spared.
This week the Press is happy to provide in our Charitable Giving Guide the most complete list available anywhere of the organizations recommended by townspeople and staff for their good work in Harvard and nearby communities. (See page 1.) Many of these organizations have had to postpone or curtail fundraising activities due to the pandemic, while demand for services, especially at food banks and shelters, continues to grow. If you believe, as we do, that charity begins at home, we have suggested a wide variety of local and regional organizations where you might direct your contributions.
This year more than ever, the need is urgent, every donation counts, and every recipient will put your donations to good use.
