In the past week, police assisted one person with a disabled motor vehicle. They also responded to a call from someone who was locked out of a car, but the person walked home and got a spare key, and so did not need police help. Emergency responders received six medical calls. Five people required transport to a hospital, two with Advanced Life Support service in attendance.

Wednesday, Oct. 7
Starting just before 6 p.m. calls poured in from all over town about high winds that were bringing down trees and branches. Between 5:46 and 7:31 p.m., trees and tree limbs fell on Stow, Pattee, Green Hill, Prospect Hill, Ayer, Littleton, Bolton, Craggs, East Bare Hill, Brown, Shaker, and Pond roads, along with Warren and Massachusetts avenues—15 calls in all. The Department of Public Works and National Grid were called as needed. In the midst of the storm, at 6:40 p.m., a Bolton Road resident reported a case of trespassing, but no further information was available.
Thursday, Oct. 8
At 10:58 a.m. an Old Littleton Road resident called to report a case of identity theft. At 4:32 p.m. a caller told police about another downed tree limb on wires that were creating a road hazard on Littleton Road, and National Grid was called.
Friday, Oct. 9
At 8:36 p.m. someone phoned to say three people with flashlights were trespassing at the Oak Ridge Observatory on Pinnacle Road, but the wanderers were gone when police arrived. At 8:58 p.m. a caller reported a branch hanging from wires above Warren Avenue, and National Grid was called.

Sunday, Oct. 11
At 12:12 p.m. a caller reported there had been a lot of traffic on Oak Hill Road, as well as people urinating in the woods. At 4:30 p.m. a 911 caller told police a woman was shouting for help from a silver car on West Bare Hill Road, but the car had kept traveling. Police searched the area, found nothing, and informed Bolton police.
Monday, Oct. 12
At 4:02 p.m. a Whitman Road resident called to report someone had filed a fraudulent unemployment claim in the resident’s name. At 11:33 p.m. the U.S. Capitol Police in Washington, D.C., phoned about an elderly woman who had told them she was lost; the caller said the woman’s last known address was in Harvard. Harvard police said they reached out to her family, who refused to help. The woman is a Fitchburg resident now, police said, but they believed she was still in Washington.
