The Devens Jurisdictional Framework Committee has suspended its operations for a six-month hiatus, starting as of its Sept. 9 meeting, but the Harvard-Devens Jurisdiction Committee has unanimously voted to continue working during this time.
The Devens Jurisdictional Framework Committee is tasked with determining the ultimate fate of Devens, and it consists of representatives from Harvard, Ayer, Shirley, MassDevelopment, and the Devens Enterprise Commission. The Harvard-Devens Jurisdiction Committee’s task is determining Harvard’s perspective on what should be done with Devens.
According to Victor Normand, who is chair of the jurisdiction committee and co-chair of the framework committee, other members of the framework committee reported that the ongoing pressures of COVID-19 had made it difficult for them to make progress on their mission, and they requested a break. With the exception of Harvard representatives Normand and Lucy Wallace, all voting members in attendance voted for the hiatus.
