In the past week, police made one motor vehicle stop, which resulted in a verbal warning, and helped one person who was locked out of a vehicle and another whose vehicle was disabled. Emergency responders received seven medical calls, with three people requiring ambulance transport to a hospital, one with Advanced Life Support services in attendance; three calls were for lift assists, and one call had no further information. There were also two requests for well-being checks.
Tuesday, May 26
At 8:19 a.m. a passerby called police to say a large tree had fallen in the road near the intersection of Ayer Road and Myrick Lane. At 12:49 p.m. a Candleberry Lane resident phoned with concerns about an unfamiliar car that had been parked at the end of a private drive for half an hour; the car was gone when police arrived. A Poor Farm Road resident called at 2:19 p.m. to say a branch had fallen on the power lines. Because the lines were on private property, the police advised calling the tree warden and National Grid.
Wednesday, May 27
Over the course of the day, several people on Finn, Stow, and Ayer roads called police about a man going door to door offering estimates on pest control. Police said the pest control company had not notified them of its plans to solicit business in town.
Thursday, May 28
At 12:40 p.m. a 911 caller reported a collision on Route 2 westbound, and the Harvard ambulance took a person to the hospital. At 3:04 p.m. a resident reported a large tree had fallen on Littleton Road, and the Department of Public Works was called to remove it. At 8:49 p.m. Boxborough police called to say someone who was driving erratically, tailgating and swerving, was on Mass. Ave. headed toward Harvard, but the car was no longer in the area when police arrived.
Friday, May 29
At 5:10 p.m. an officer checked on a group of people trespassing at the town beach and told them it was closed. At 6:45 p.m. and again at 7:13 p.m. an officer checked on vehicles parked on Still River Depot Road at the Oxbow National Wildlife Area.
Saturday, May 30
At 5:49 p.m. a Littleton Road resident called to ask about getting a restraining order. At 8:56 p.m. a caller reported a large group of young people at Thurston’s Cove; police told the caller the area was not closed to the public.
Sunday, May 31
An Oak Hill Road resident told police there was a weird noise coming from equipment on a utility pole there, and National Grid was informed.
Monday, June 1
At 5:52 p.m. an Ann Lees Road resident called 911 with suspicions about a person going from door to door on a Segway; it was again the person soliciting pest control business.
