In the past week, police made no motor vehicle stops, but issued two tickets for parking violations at recreation areas in town that were closed. They also assisted two motorists with disabled vehicles; one was out of gas and the other was broken down and needed a tow. Officers made one well-being check. The ambulance squad received one medical emergency call and took the person to a hospital with Advanced Life Support services in attendance.
Tuesday, April 14
At 7:44 a.m. a Westcott Road resident called to say a wire was down, and National Grid was notified. Later, at 9:55 a.m., the power went out on Orchard Hill. At 12:33 p.m. another fallen wire was reported on Littleton Road. At 4:51 p.m. a 911 caller reported finding a gray and white dog without a collar in the Myrick Lane neighborhood; the animal control officer was informed.
Wednesday, April
5: At 2:11 p.m. police notified a resident that a judge had granted the harassment protection order the resident had requested.
Thursday, April 16
At 4:20 a.m. police called the Department of Public Works to say road conditions throughout town were becoming hazardous. At 1:24 p.m. an Ayer Road resident called to tell police about some items that had been stolen from an unoccupied house.

Nothing significant to report.
Saturday, April 18
At 2:42 a.m. police again notified the DPW that roads were getting slippery and needed treatment. At 12:29 p.m. police intervened in a verbal altercation between two adults at the highway department.
Sunday, April 19
At 1:47 p.m. a bicyclist called to say he’d been hit by a bottle that someone threw at him from a silver Toyota; police searched the area but did not locate the car. From midafternoon to early evening the beautiful spring weather drew people outside, and police dealt with a steady stream of people and cars on properties that are closed because of the COVID-19 pandemic—the town beach, the Bromfield tennis courts, Fruitlands, and the Ryan field. In most cases, people were simply told to move along; but at the Ryan field a driver received a ticket for a parking violation. At 5:36 p.m. an officer told about 10 drivers to leave the Prospect Hill overlook. At 10:41 p.m. a 911 caller said a car on Route 495 had spun out and gone off the road into the woods; state police had jurisdiction, but Harvard fire and ambulance squads reported to the scene.
Monday, April 20
At 3:47 p.m. a UPS driver called to report a black Lab with a red collar was running along Stow Road.
