Woman’s Club offers scholarships
The Harvard Woman’s Club will award its annual scholarships in June to deserving male or female high school seniors—graduating Bromfield students or Harvard residents graduating from other public secondary schools. Applications are at https://harvardwomansclub.wordpress.com/scholarship. Completed applications must be received no later than April 30. Clothing drive for Camp Sunshine
The annual clothing drive to benefit Camp Sunshine and the Epilepsy Foundation has started and will last until May 15. All clothing items as well as shoes, backpacks, purses, fabric, sheets, blankets, and comforters will be accepted. Put items in bags and drop off at one of these locations:
- St. Theresa’s Church, at the ramp at the side of the building
- Hildreth House, on the front porch
- Public Library, outside the front door

For every pound of clothing collected, the Epilepsy Foundation donates $0.20 to Camp Sunshine, a camp in Casco, Maine, for children facing life-threatening illnesses and their families. For questions, call 978-270-0151 or email 8whitelane@charter.net.
Comments due May 22 on expanded hunting at wildlife refuges
The office of the Eastern Massachusetts National Wildlife Refuge requests public input on measures to expand hunting in the Assabet River, Great Meadows, and Oxbow national wildlife refuges.
The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service proposes the following hunting expansions:
- Expand opportunities for big game, upland game, and migratory bird hunting on refuge lands at all three wildlife refuges
- Open 123 additional acres to hunting at the Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge
- Open 778 additional acres to hunting at Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge
- Open 128 additional acres to hunting at Oxbow National Wildlife Refuge
- Provide opportunities for mentored, veteran, and youth specialized hunts at the Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge

Anyone who wishes to offer feedback on the proposed changes to hunting at the Oxbow National Wildlife Refuge can submit written comments by mail (Attn: Hunt Plan, Eastern Massachusetts National Wildlife Refuge, 73 Weir Hill Road, Sudbury, MA 01776) or by email to fw5rw_emnwr@fws.gov. The deadline for comments has been extended to May 22 to allow for a 70-day feedback period. All letters must be postmarked by this deadline.
Conservation Trust offers free memberships and trail guides
In the spirit of community, the Harvard Conservation Trust (HCT) is offering a free one-year membership and a copy of its trail guide booklet to area residents who are not already members and would like to learn about Harvard’s conservation lands and trails. To take advantage of this offer, send an email by June 30 with the subject line “new member” to info@harvardconserva tiontrust.org with your name and mailing address.

Nomination papers for Town Caucus due May 14
