Harry and Meghan Commoners, the former Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have given up their dream of living part-time in Canada. The couple recently purchased a sprawling fixer-upper in Devens, where they hope to raise their son Archie far from the harsh media coverage in Great Britain.
According to local realtors, the couple saw the possibilities of their new home immediately and were charmed by its history and location. A former military man who served in Afghanistan, Harry felt perfectly at home in the crumbling, vermin-infested Devens enclave now known as Vicksburg Square.
Although the 19.6-acre complex is rather large for a family of three, Harry and Meg are used to spacious quarters and expect to use every inch of the property. Nobody is willing to disclose the purchase price, but there’s no question that MassDevelopment was a motivated seller. As for Harry and Meg, they’re delighted that Archie will be eligible to attend the new Hildreth Elementary School until he’s shipped off to Eton, his dad’s alma mater.
Sources say the couple will continue to split their time between Canada and Britain until extensive renovations at Vicksburg Square are complete.
