The girls basketball team decisively beat Worcester North High School last week to qualify for the district championships for the first time since 2016. With two slalom races remaining, the boys and girls Alpine ski teams are nearing the end of their season. 

At last Thursday’s Midland-Wachusett (Mid-Wach) League swimming and diving championships, Bromfield’s lone diver, freshman Lily Tonole, placed second in the 1-meter dive, while sophomore Zachary Becker won the boys 100-yard butterfly, senior Dwight Childers won the boys 500-yard freestyle, and junior Ella Church won the girls 200-yard individual medley and also the 500-yard freestyle. The girls and boys relay teams won several of their events, helping power their teams to third- and fifth-place finishes.

Girls swimming and diving (9-1)

  • 1/29-30 Mid-Wach League Swimming and Diving Championship. Freshman Lily Tonole placed second among 11 competitors in the 1-meter diving event, while the girls team placed third overall with 249 points among 12 competing schools.
